I have 1708 and I believe 1808 to layer. I have an offshore boat racer/builder providing the instruction and letting me use his shop/lifts/tools I just do as I am told lol I have some paint/bodywork experience but not professionally and not much fiberglass ever other than I fixed 70 blisters on a Carver yacht I bought a couple years ago. Redid the whole bottom, thought I had learned my lesson? haha. I can find out order of layers? I also used his recommendations for transom and stringers material and order of process to maintain boat integrity. I will update pictures as I have time. |

Boat actually needs transom and stringer work. I have it scheduled to be done End of November. We are enjoying until then. I was aware of issues when I bought it and wanted a winter project.
Just wondering why you had to replace the transom and stringers, or was that just a precaution. I have abused my Cigarette quite a lot. I left it in the ice three times during winter and crashed both TRS drives and scoop once on a underwater barrier but hull and transom are still in good condition after 40 years. https://cimg1.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.off...6407d2f8fe.jpg https://cimg5.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.off...a6d3c7d7a6.jpg |

https://cimg0.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.off...e9417c2b1.jpeg Because it was as rotten as a Fountain lol. The boat changed hands 3-4 times in about 24 months because owners realized it was rotten, and I bought it with that knowledge planning on a transom and maybe stringer repair in mind. Ended up transom/stringers/bulkhead etc.,. but the boat was solid in cabin hahaha Any neglected boat will get wet/rot |
If ya no looky is all good
