Replacement Garmin for 03 Mistress
I have an 03 35 TS and looking to replace the existing Gamin 180 that works but screen is not getting pretty weather checked. Wondering if anyone has been able to replace using the existing space in the panel or not? i have seen some updates where the speedo was moved over to the gps spot and GPS centered in the middle. Assume that would be the best route for a newer GPS but would need to get a blank panel made? Any advice is appreciated. MIKE

I think you may be able to get the Garmin unit we put into the Cafe into that area on your 35. It would be tight but it may work. Downsize is I don't know what unit it was or the size. Sorry. But I will say, it was a great unit. Easy to use and navigate through features, loved the options on views and split screen, etc.
Other option (what we did) would be to get a bigger unit and get rid of your speedometer. The GPS has speed read-out. We pulled our speedo out and just used the GPS unit for to see how fast we were going.

Hot For Teacher had a Garmin 740S which replaced the Garmin 180, using the same hole. So that would work or if you want new whatever is the equivalent of a 740S today.

Mike, considering the weathered screen, upgrading your GPS sounds like a good idea. Moving the speedo and centering the GPS might indeed be a practical solution. You could inquire about custom panel options at a local marine electronics shop to ensure a seamless fit. Safe boating!
