Default konrad 540's on a 38 gun

Does anyone have experience with the Konrad 540's on a straight bottom gun? been looking at throwing a pair on but not a lot of information on how they perform on a 38, max Hp? any speed gains? parts availability?

I had Konrad's on my Mistress Straight Bottom. I originally had TRS. I had roughly 675 HP. NA. The TRS held up about 180 hours before the pinion gear went. The Konrads bolted on and I had no problems. Parts are still off the shelf ready and easy to come by. I sold the boat but heard that the Konrads are still on there and running fine and they have over 600 hours logged on them. That's what I know, the Mistress was actually a little heavier then the gun so I think you would be fine. I gained about 2-3 MPH. That is because the X dimension if I remember was 1.75" less then the TRS. The TRS on all CIGs were really low and conservative. Also with the KONRADS, I had a much larger selection of props and prop sizes. I ran mirage plus on the TRS, but then was able to dial in some great Bravo 1 props for the Mistress before I sold.

GOOD LUCK. The Konrads were great, guess it depends on what you want to pay. I have also seen some very cheap sets of TRS'S. You could always just have a few spares lying around and save yourself money. ALL depends on your boating needs. Typically the lower left goes on the TRS If I remember correctly. I have seen TRS pairs in great condition go for under 3500. Just saying.

Two members of OSO that will have TRS drives are Sick Stinger and Full Force. I have purchased from Sick Stinger and he's a stand up guy. Full Force I know from boating and is a stand up guy also. (he may be upset with MICHIGAN beating up on his Buckeyes)

KONRADS lasted less than a hour behind 1000's when they were on my top gun years ago. 750-800hp is bout the limit for them. boat did run 101 with the 1000's and konrads tho

Lower gear is weak link but 750-800 it will hold unless you really beat the snot out of it there a strong drive i mean even a 6 will fail at. 1000hp driven hard
