Default Bullet/Decathlon hull design - spray strakes

Have always wondered this and since I now have a Bullet of my own, I thought I’d finally ask the question:

What’s the significance of the way the spray strakes (I think that’s what they’re called) are designed/implemented on the Bullet and Decathlon hulls? The two strakes intersect in a sort of triangle. I have not seen this on other boats.

Decathlon

Bullet

Cafe - traditional

Formula 311 - Magnum-based.

Why are the Bullet and Decathlon different than the rest?
