Default Cigarette Apparel

Ok, I talked some sh*t when I saw the price increase on the new line of cig clothes last year but a friend of mine got me a cig t shirt and I gotta say, probably the nicest t shirt I’ve ever put on. It’s fitted super well, made of the wicking poly/cotton blend but its kinda heavier duty than most I’ve seen. Flag embroiderd on the shoulder, rubber cigarette logo embroidered down at the bottom edge. Feels fantastic on. I gotta admit, I really like it.

for what it’s worth. I know many of us were like fuuuuuuuuuck that when we saw the price hike but I think the quality may actually be worth it!

I have mixed feelings about it. I have a shirt and hat…are they nice. Yes. Fabric is soft, nice embroidery, cool details, etc.

would I buy any for myself…no.

I loved cigarette t shirts of old. They were $25. I didn’t care if I messed them up. I’d just buy a box of them. They were thick…decent quality but cheap money.

I miss the old products honestly.

Not to derail the thread, but If you can stomach them not being “authentic,” there are t-shirt makers over on FB that will make you whatever you want. Are they licensed? No. Do they look decent enough/feel good for running around on the water for the weekend or working on the boat? Definitely.

I bought some crew shirts for a poker run I did with the Formula a few years back (2018). $100-bucks for six t-shirts. They looked good and had an ‘88 Palm Beach 311 on the back. Still have them.

I am as guilty as it comes. I have way more than just these off the website….. expensive? Yes! I really like the quality though! Super comfortable and looks good! I just added these two to my collection the “ Don jacket “ and the classic logo t shirt. I have almost all of the trucker hats also….. which are very comfortable and look great.

yep, I’ve had “aftermarket” shirts and hats made. The ones I had made from custom capt with our actual boat on it are high quality (still not as nice as the stuff from cig) the other hats and shirts I had made last about a season. Print started pealing off and hats started losing shape. But I’m sure there’s capable places to custom make some decent stuff for sure. My point was I was poo poo on the huge price increase when I saw it but after actually getting a shirt from them it is apparent the quality is bar none the best I’ve seen. Worth the price? Guess it depends on the buyer like everything else. But I did want to pass along if anyone was like “I can get the same thing made for $25…” no, no you can’t. Like I said, I’ve done it. The factory stuff is just simply better quality. Waaaay better. Like most counterfeit things, the real thing is just night and day better. My .02 for what it’s worth.

I get it. And like you I have mixed feelings. I liked the old school basic cotton cig T’s of old but THAT shirt, you can get made for $25 all day. Treat it like a rag no problem. To me, like you said about the custom details, I dig that stuff. The little rubber cigarette logo at the bottom, the cigarette scrip along the inside of the collar, the flag on the shoulder and whatever shirt they use I’ve never felt a more quality wicking style shirt. Heavier than standard thin ones I’ve seen mostly. I was wearing the shirt yesterday and a buddy of mine that isn’t really a performance boat guy was like “damn, that’s a nice shirt” lol. I was like “right?!” 😁😁

i guess when it comes down to it, I HATE crappy fitting shirts. Sleeves baggy or short, loose neck, baggy instead of fitted etc. drives me crazy. Nice fitted quality shirt just feels better. 🤷🏻‍♂️

I hear ya…I guess my question to you. Would you actually wear it boating. For me the answer is no.

The old $25 t shirts were great for boating. I didn’t care if I got crap on it…oil, gas, sweat, dirt, etc.

as you said I’d turn them into rags after. The good ole days.

Same here Tank. I was hating pretty hard on them when this new merch came out. No chance in hell I was going to buy anything at those prices. Fast forward to a couple months ago, my kids got me the long sleeved T for my birthday. It is hands down the nicest T shirt I've ever owned. It's almost too nice to wear. I'm scare of getting it dirty.

LOL, same. But then again, F-it. It's a shirt. A really nice, comfortable and costly shirt...But still a shirt. I look forward to wearing it boating.
