Factory Floor-‘04 TG

My ‘04 Gun has the ‘cheese grater’ floor in it. I’ve been avoiding on dealing with it and have just been going the carpet route. Was thinking on finally doing Sea Deck. How do I remove the original floor? I’m imagine using heat of some kind and a lot of frustration. Thanks in advance.

Craney 01-25-2025 04:34 PM

Go with Maine Mat they use snaps instead of glueing it down, you can go over the old floor without removing the old floor.

H20 Toie 01-25-2025 04:41 PM

My seadeck it just on top of the cheese grator

MAXIMUSXXX 01-25-2025 05:29 PM

Interesting. You can’t feel it thru the Sea Deck? And Sea Deck sticks to it? Thanks

thisistank 01-25-2025 06:27 PM

I would recommend the snap in route as well. The glued on stuff does eventually peel and shrink. It also gets dirty and worn if you don’t stay on top of it. AND from what I understand getting the glue off when you swap
out is a NIIIIIGHTMARE. We did Seadeck in the cafe and im
getting ready to do it in the gun but it’ll be the snap in. Or we may do carpet again. We’ll see.

whats the cheese grator........:party-smiley-004:

seafordguy 01-25-2025 09:47 PM

I just put Marine Mat right over my cheese grater (feet grader).

I have snaps on my foot rests, but I just laid the rest of the carpet in. Makes it really easy tp pull out and clean with simple green. I’ll dig out a pic.

Maximus,

Kinda curious on this, too. Our PQ has a fairly fine diamond pattern on the floor, but we've never found it to be too aggressive for bare feet. Just curious....

Thanks. Brad.

H20 already responded. It’s the pirelli floor found in a lot of 2004-2015 ish…cigarettes

302Sport 01-27-2025 08:05 AM

Do the new Cigs come with carpet or seadek?

1Moses1,

Ah. Missed that. So it’s an installed flooring, not molded in?

Thanks. Brad.

Tony Schlabach did mine.

we spent a lot of time getting the dimensions right. Quarter inch here, quarter inch there. As you know, not mass produced so we templated my specific boat to get it close.

mine is Marine Mat.

I think I have that stuff in my boat, I was told you couldn't do seadek over the top cuz it would show the pattern through

ICDEDPPL 01-28-2025 08:03 PM

I like to use the thicker triple layers (9mm) .
It`s softer.

To F2’s comment, that’s exactly what I was concerned with.

Cig also use the lonseal type of flooring, specifically the loncoin with the circles.... https://lonseal.com/applications/marine/ its like pirelli but not as hard on the feet, I used snapin carpet back in the day for mine, they did a great job.

Helmwurst 01-30-2025 07:36 AM

So what do these flooring/carpet guys generally charge to make just a cockpit replacement? I don't want snap-in or glue down. My current factory carpet just lays in. I have a 1.inch building foam pad under it.

Quinlan 01-30-2025 04:14 PM

I think i still have a blue lay in for my 02 somewhere.
