I`m not sure how you`d do it with a bravo drive.

Nor-Tech put a handle on it so it`s easy to open and close. . (number 33 on it )
The red is there to remind me do not start engines if you see red , valve is closed, sea pump impeller destruction imminent. lol

Dan,

I intend to splice into the hose connecting the drive to the sea strainer. Just looking for specifics on what valve you got. Or anybody else for that matter.

Thanks. Brad.

Dan,

Looking at ball valves. Lots of options. What did you install? Got a pic?

Thanks. Brad.

Brad, I would go with an industrial valve like Apollo or Parker. Earlier in the thread I posted this Apollo spec on the valve I used to replace my existing Parkers.

Here's a few pics for reference if anyone needs it.

Also, over time the valves would losen and water pressure would force them closed underway. PBC would fab a removable plate over the handles of the shutoff valves to keep them from popping up (Closing the Valve). I loosend one of the mounting screws and wrapped a zip tie around the screw and the shutoff handle. From end of July thru the rest of the season, I'd have to empty the strainers 2x a day from weeds in the canals, so I needed something quick and easy.

On my forward motor I was able to get in there and change it out. On my rearward motor, I was waiting till the motors had to come out.

Menards in Illinois has a huge selection of stainless stuff all the way up to 2"
No need to buy a $126 valve.

If you're just wanting an on/off valve, that would work. My original valves were bronze so I went back with bronze and I needed mounting for my cable actuator.
