Carter did these in a cafe. This still is from a video. The hatches were on an electric ram. Push the button at the helm and they open up. Bad azz design. Speakers out front for when you’re beached. as far as off the transom I’ve seen people run wire they can pull from under the seat to hook to pod speakers they’ll grab out of the cabin and set on the swim step. Not glamorous but works. I’ve also seen people in havasu perma mount speakers on the transom. Im not a fan. The two 6.5 up high on the dash of our gun actually help carry the sound out or the boat and down to the water when you’re floating off the swim step. I wouldn’t have put them there but they’re there and they actually work. |

That would be an awesome set up but I don't have hatches anymore. I will probably just set up a pair I can plug in and put on the sun pad or swim platform. I'd like to make something that mounts like a light pole in the back of the boat and use the terminals to wire the speakers. I guess I just have to invent it.

Alright.
Alright…. How in the hell do these come off lol

I think they are held on with little plastic "trees", at least that's how they are on my Bullet. Use a non-marring prybar used to remove a car's door panel.

Well…
Well here we are. Still waiting on subwoofers.

Maybe I’m crazy?
Maybe I’m crazy or stupid of thinking of this?
what if I modify the existing 6x9 hole to fit a 10 inch sub? I think it’s doable or am I wrong? It’ll sorta be under the seat. then for the 6.5’s I could put them both forward of the sub about where your knees would be if riding in the boat? I REALLY don’t want to cut up my vinyl. Will it sound like chit? I’m not worried about anybody outside of me hearing what I’m jamming to. We don’t have sandbars and stuff either so not looking to be the life of the party. Thoughts? https://cimg1.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.off...0e0e9b10f.jpeg 6.5 placement guesses? https://cimg8.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.off...4a3841898.jpeg Existing 6x9 hole im thinking I can modify to fit 10” sub? |
Annnddd

You don't want the 6.5s are sharing a sealed space with your subs. They will trash your 6.5s and sound like sh!t while they're doing it. Personally, I'd try to isolate the sub enclosure volume from the rest. I'd suggest something like THIS. Thanks. Brad. |
Pull that carpet out while doing that work. You will be picking fiberglass out of your feet for the next couple years!

Not sure what was there but no speaker or adapter we could find would cover it up. So we had some white plexy laying around...he had it covered in blue vinyl that matched the boat and i made some adapters for some new 6x9's :D Just get creative :D |

https://cimg0.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.off...06209fa07b.jpg https://cimg1.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.off...6e9e2368f0.jpg Also made a small single 10" sub box for under the back seat. Totally sealed and down firing so it wont get damaged by stuff falling on it or people kicking it. Wrapped in outdoor carpet to match the floor of the boat and it was perfect. I know you Cig has a different back seat setup. If you have the room under the seat i would put to 12" free air subs in the seat wall facing the cockpit. Maybe install a wall between them to separate them but Ive seen them work just fine in the same space. If you wanted to get real fancy you could build or have some one build a forth order box...its a sealed sob box that fires into another chamber with a tuned port....so if measured right you could build a single sub box to place under the back seat and then just have a tuned port exiting into the cockpit...a bit more involved but out of sight and protected from most everything unless you store stuff under the seat :D |
Ha!

Cut
Friend of mine I went to high school with fired up an upholstery shop up in the last year or so. Dropped my side panels off to get the holes cut for 6.5’s in all 4 panels. I’m happy with the outcome

Looking good!! You could have your buddy at the upholstery shop make you a trim ring out of plastic for your 10" Sub if it don't cover the old 6x9 hole. You could wrap it in red vinyl to match your interior, XT had to make spacers for my 8.8's since I didn't have enough depth.

Kicker products are way improved over the last few years. I am running a square sub and it still pounds hard. Wanting to change out to a W&W sub and box, but I think the sub box is swollen a little and may have to be cut out.

https://cimg7.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.off...0e7c7488d.jpeg That’s all that counts. Mine is nothing special. I updated the head unit and outside speakers after we bought the boat, but that was only because the head unit that was in it had given up. I ended up upgrading the outside speakers because the old ones had a crackle to them. I went with Bazooka for those, as I was going with the bass tube. The speakers in the cuddy are “original”. It won’t blast out the cove, but that’s not my intentions. We can hear it when we’re in the water immediately around the boat. Works for me. Thanks. Brad. |
