Cigarette Raftup & or Run (part 2)
I just spoke with Harry and here's what we have so far:
1) Harry spoke with Skip/Neil and Cig is considering making their annual reunion a "roving" event each year, to be held in different parts of the country. This year it would be in Maryland at Md Offshore Performance.
2) A good date for the "gathering" is July 12th. The weather is warm, and there's a lot to do in the area.
3) We're looking at a 2-3 day event. A party Friday night in the Red Eyes area, a run somewhere Saturday, maybe overnight wherever we run to, and then back to Red Eyes/Kent Narrows on Sunday in time for their famous bikini contest.
4) There are motels, slips, and ramps in that area that we can reserve.
So, we have the help of a Cigarette dealer and the factory. Now what I need are firm committments from people that would be willing to attend. We'd like to get 40-50 boats to participate. Cig is willing to work with us to make this a first class event. I can't provide costs, but we all know what a couple of nights in a motel costs.
Sorry if the details are sketchy, but we wanted to gauge interest. We want to start keeping a list of who is "in" so please email me or PM me your contact information and boat type/yr etc.

I would have some interest in attending ('94 38 TG). I have places in Baltimore and OC, so it wouldn't be hard to bring the boat back from the Ocean. Talk to Rob Asner, he is in OC as well and is on the message board, he has a 42 Tiger and may have some interest. I haven't spoken Will Lynch (F2 Lynch Mob) for a while but you may get him up as well.
It would be fun to have an impromtu race if you could get your club to organize it.

So far only you and Too Old have responded with "definite maybes". I'll wait a few more days, but if we can't drum up more interest I'm going to let the idea die.
Thanks for your response!!

Steve,
I've been looking at this post for days wondering why it hasn't taken off either...too bad, because it sounds like it would be a nice idea.
My problem is that I don't have a truck to get the boat down that way this summer...and I'm still wondering if...by the time I finish my engines/drives/dash...if I'll have enough money left over to put gas in it...

Between this board, the "other" one, and some phone calls, I have about 10 boats lined up. MOP says they can round up 10 or so more. I'm starting to think we can pull this off!!
