Hey Tres -
We did the dummy installations of my engines in my '94 38 TG (750 HP's w/ 3A SSM's) at the height you suggested.
2 questions:
1.) The starboard alignment is dead on. The port alignment is within 28 thousandths of an inch. I would immagine that with the 2 universals right there, it wouldn't cause a problem being that close. Am I correct?
2.) I've heard varying opinions as to whether to use the two trans mount ears when using dual race motor plates. Some folks have said that using the trans 'ear' mounts can cause the bell housings to crack especially when towing. Shouls I use the trans mounts or just leave them off?
Thanks, as always, for all of your help.
Barry

I dont use them, except on boats I believe the transom is going to have some give in it. Its hard to be @ perfection when the boats themself are so far out. Dont sweat the ears. Just get your Motor Alignment right. Tres
