Question Cafe Racer Question

I'm starting to look at Cafes and was wondering how do you tell the difference between a convential glass lay up and a kevlar lay up. Is it in the hull number? I was told Cigarette turned out several kevlar Cafes and don't know if it is true or not?

Just for clarification, you do mean kevlar and not carbon fiber, correct ?

I do believe that kevlar Cig's have a designation in the hull number . . I seem to remember (?) it is verified with a simple 'K' in the hull number, but I'm unsure where exactly it is in the hull number ( might be the very first letter ? ). I'd imagine that a quick call to Cigarette can clarify it though. Let us know for sure

there are Kevlar models out there. If you look up under engine room or under dash or even pull speaker out of the cockpit and look inside with a flash light . If the mattting is gold it is Kevlar. Chances are some people may not know what they got.

Tres, under the "Cafe Racer" logo on the side of the boat mine used to say "Pro Series", or something like that. Any idea what that means?

Cignificant-

We have a 1991 Top Gun that is a "Platinum Series." On the Gun, I believe, you get the certain colors and the hawk blower motors. Our boat is Carbon Fiber, but I'm not sure if that is part of the package. They made Pro Series/Platinum Series in 89-91 I think. Am I right Tres?

I've got an 88 Cafe, the Surgin' General, with custom 540's and # 3 drives, This is a dynamite power package with new paint we finished during the fall of 2002. This is a true 80mph boat with updated oil coolers, new fuel lines, and a custom race hatch with updated oval vents. This is one of the best looking Cafe's anywhere.

Call me at 301-897-1297 if you interested in mine of just want to talk about owning a Cafe. I've had this one for three years
