I've been with Bill Butler (Blackadar) for many years. Presently, I have my 35 Flat Deck and 38 Top Gun insured with them.

Their HP policy is very cut and dry with no "loopholes" or BS compared to some others I've reviewed. Bill is very knowledgeable when it comes to Cigarettes and will not mislead you on policy terms and conditions.

I think $2,355 is to low a premium for the specs you mention compared to all the other policy, and to good to be true. There is obviously a loophole for them to screw you.

I would NOT take that policy. The time to figure they are going to screw you is not once your getting sued or have a major claim. No cutting corners for me on something that important.

Deductible is too low agreed value too high, something funky there, for that premium. Maybe miscommunication somewhere.

Pasunbum;

Can you delve deeper and determine what the loophole might be? Sure seems to be a big discrepancy between the two.

I did insure with Luellen's group for several years, Never made a claim to see how they would be in that situation. I left them because the Gal Bob delegated to take care of my account could not for the life of her keep me informed of changes or get paperwork to me.

GLH,
It can't hurt to call Bob and get a quote from him. You might be surprized!!! I'm insured with him. I got three other quotes and his was BETTER coverage, no layup, no region restriction.... and 35% cheaper than the nearest competitor. He's a heck of a nice guy and loves to talk boats. 1-800-339-1235

I'm insured through Bob.

I sent him the policy I had with another major marine broker and we compared it to the policy he was proposing and it was actually better in terms of coverage.

I then sent both to a friend who runs an insurance brokerage and he confirmed that Bob's policy was better AND cheaper.

Why is it so much cheaper ? I'd suggest asking him - he's easily accessible.

Just my .02
