Default Cabin Door alignment???

Took the port side upolstry panels & console off. I've replaced the upper track with a new one using the same wood shim behind the track on the port side. The lower track seemed ok and straight with a continuous wood shim under it. All the rollers look good. Now if I screw in to the existing screw holes on the deck the door will only close 1/2 way and bind. If I remove the screws and slide the lower track aft the door slides fine, but doesnt line up with the door latch. And no room for the console lower mounting bracket. Were am I going wrong? Any suggestions?
Thanks for the help

Dan

Dan, I did the same exact thing and my door binds as well. It has been bothering me for quite some time and I cannot figure out how to fix it. I loosend the bolts that hold the rollers and that didn't help...maybe Tres can chime in?

Sean
I understand the theory of how it should work. The upper and lower rails need to be exactly parallel to each other but 90* apart. If I dont screw in the bottom rail it slides like its on glass, but as soon as I move the bottom rail foward to were it needs to be it wants to bind. I messed with the shims on the bottom for a couple of hours and it finally will slide all the way. But its still stiff about the last 18" I'll leave it like that and see if it works itself in.

Yep
Got the door working ok now...still a little stiff but at least it slides all the way open and closed.
It came with Eickert alum manifolds, that I have up for sale. They wont last in the salt down here. And I flush with salt a way constantly.
