Maybe I can get him to put the deck of #2 onto the hull of #1?
I like them both; |
I like the first one better. Both look good though.

Originally posted by Spitfire1 I agree....that would look really nice..... |
The first one makes the boat look longer IMO....I think the second deck on the first hull would be the best!
|
Yep! Take the deck of #2 and put it on the first.
LS JR. |
I would go with number 2 on the deck and hull it looks much better.
Cigaretteman |
i agree, deck 2 on 1...
|
#2 is it.

#2 all the way for me

Originally posted by ONESICKGLADIATOR Yep! Take the deck of #2 and put it on the first. Hey 2112 motors are u going with I have to tell you I am a Ford guy. I have repowered my previous two boats with big power Fords. I am having the boat built with 525 efi's. I wanted the rigging to be complete when I got it. There is a chance I will stay with that power but I am very inclined to build the mounting system for Fords and repower right away and sell the merc's as new. I fabricate my own 4 point solid mounting system. The forward motor will be easy since I use marine (Merc?)bellhousings with the Borg-Warner bolt pattern. I have two fresh 572 inch, Robert Yates head engines in my Fountain right now (way too much power for that boat). I may use those and have Stellings headers built just like yours. The big draw for the staggered engines was the room I could use to power with 572 inch Boss 429 engines. The headers are custom either way. Power difference would be minimal. It just the ultimate Ford expression for me. If you noticed, I have port side steering and the starboard motor is forward. I'll attach a picture of my current Ford engines. |

From the front, idling at the dock. These are stellings headers BTW

Deck#2 onto deck #1 and get rid of that light grey stripe that runs down the middle of deck#2.That definetly does not belong there.
Also,I wanted to go with port side steering, but was talked out of it.I think the boat would be easier to drive.Whats your feeling on it. One sick glad, please comment as well. |

I could have had right hand throttles with right side drive but that would have required the "wide version" cockpit which I did not like as well. |
So when you move the steering to the port side, you have to change what motor goes forward in the staggered setup?
|
#2 All the way
I think I agree that it's hard to stop a color on the curve of a glassed rub railed boat. BTW Please don't put Fords in that beauty!!! |
With a lot of color on the top deck you will be waxing it all the time and it does get hot.Take it from someone that has been down that road, less color is better!!!
A boat looks bigger with less color. I vote for #1 |

Why not? 99.9999999% of all performance boats are chevs. Wouldn't a few Viper engined or Ford powered boats add a nice mix? You can't be too anti-Ford, You posted an entire "tribute" photo collection to the awesome GT that is soon to hit the showrooms. PS My current Fords are 98% Factory issued parts, you know, like bow-tie stuff. The quality of the parts is phenomenal. well designed, Beefy (where indicated), well machined, and well performing. A Big Block Ford is just a big version of what the NASCAR boys run. |
The NASCAR boys are on asphalte.
About the fords all I am thinking is resale you want to stay as appealable and servicable as possible. Then again if you are not worried about resale then what ever floats your boat! I have an Excursion and I love Fords but for Marine engines to be practicale and servicable anywhere in the country Ford or the new V-10's on the water is not the way to go and will hurt you big on resale. Again it only applies if you care about those parameters I wish you good luck with that awesome rig. |
#1, but with something added tro the deck. But, not necessarily the #2 deck.
|
I think #2 when it's actually painted would look really sweet.

I like the second one the best!
I think the red really makes a bold statement! |
Originally posted by 2112 I think even the paint and red gel-coat bottom are going to to hurt resale. I think any non-merc power will not give the ROI that a stock engine will. It's a joke please just a joke don't crucify me please.. We're still here to laugh, No? I had to do it!!!:D:D:D |
GLH;
Crucify you? You have only raised accurate and salient issues. You are a prolific poster and I enjoy both your sense of humor and wisdom gained directly through experience. When I started this thread, your opinion was one of those I was anxious to hear. I am not a "Ford Snob" BTW. In fact, I am jealous that mercury has chosen to base their line up on Chev products. I secretely hope that GM pisses them off with this vortec stuff so they will go elsewhere. (I know the aftermarket (dart/merlin etc)will always be there for them and I also know that Ford is not interested in pushrod technology any more so the likelihood of them getting in bed together is between slim and none. |
As of Sunday night, Pacific Coast time the tally is as follows;
Option 1; 3 votes Option 2; 8 votes combo(deck 2 on hull 1) 7 votes Leave as is; 1 vote |

I agree too. #2 deck on #1 hull. But....
Tell me I'm not crazy here, but if you put the deck of #2 on #1 it bascially makes the oval for the Cigarette logo. Granted it would require a little ingenuity, but you could have the biggest Cigarette logo ever made across the top of the entire boat! A very, very rough idea of what I mean below. |
Hmmm, tough choice! I do like the "old school" style of #1, but the deck graphics on #2 look great, so I'd combine the two. #2 is nice but it looks a bit too "also ran" with all the other busy graphics out there these days, do something different and go your original route, with a bit of a twist.
And the idea of the "giant" Cig. logo on the deck!? Things that make you go hmmmmm! Could look pretty ballsy! |

#2 Simplified a bit of previous #2

#3 with wider stripe down deck. Last two had no stripe, this is to check differences since several did not like it
|
Now #2, #2 modified and #3 are the prettiest and most unique.
