New York Cigarette Reunion

Every year a suggestion of a "New York Cigarette Reunion" is discussed, but nothing significant really materializes. I intend this summer to be different, after speaking with several owners in my area. The idea would be New York City to Sag Harbor stopping in Greenwich, staying overnite in Sag Harbor then back to New York City the following day with a stop on the North side of Long Island . For those who are interested please list your self. Depending on the number of attendees, dates are open, more than likely the fourth of July or the weekend after.

robbie, is that you...all these years and we've never met up on the water. your idea is a great one. ic an probebly get some Cigarettes together and run to Sag with you ...dunno about the whole trip for myself though...

Hi Sean,

It's me. tThis summer we will most certainly hook up. I have a Tiger now, and would really love to have a weekend of serious boating . There are several new Cig's in my area, and everyone is searching for something out of the ordinary, in leiu of NYC Poker Run.

Heck I imagine you could follow as long as you don't say the "A" word!!!

topgunrcf 03-30-2004 06:05 PM

Okay, here it goes. Need votes for which weekend would suit best for a 2 Day Run, and since where open for suggestions here is one more that was suggested. New York City to Sag Harbor or Sag Harbor to Newport ovenite in Nantuckett or (Marthas Vineyard). Distance is about equal. LETS VOTE

topgunrcf 03-30-2004 06:20 PM

One more note, this is a NO FEE Run! I believe we have enough expenses as it is. I would assume that if we can get enough of a turnout, we would have no problem obtaining slips with reasonable cost

stecz20 03-30-2004 07:16 PM

sounds great...what are we looking at for dates?

topgunrcf 03-30-2004 07:29 PM

Stecz20,

We're taking suggestions for dates. Some people had suggested that the fourth wouldn't work to due prior plans and family commitments. So somewhere in between 4th and Labor Day weekend. What works for you?

Robbie

How about the last weekend in July 24 - 25 New York City to Sag Harbor and last weekend in Aug 28 - 29 Sag Harbor to Newport ovenite in Nantuckett or (Marthas Vineyard). Distance is about equal. LETS VOTE

Hope it does'nt rain like last year. As far as north shore I would suggest either Mattituk or Port Jeff. I can arrange transient dockage in the Port Jeff area.

A real commitment and a fun trip would be for you to haul that bad boy up here.
Besides I hear gas is cheap your way!

TIGER-1 03-31-2004 08:28 AM

I'am in-check all other poker runs,so you don't conflict with other events-sound like a great time!

boatme 04-01-2004 03:03 PM

SOTW IS JULY 9TH AND 10TH

We might like to come to your NY event but not on that weekend we will be a LITTLE busy ;)

is it still warm after labor day??

the week after would be cool no so busy yet still nice weather

Sean 04-02-2004 07:46 AM

if you plan on staying in sag harbor overnight, you should plan on staying on the boat...or call the American Hotel in Sag...it the only hotel in town and VERY small...so room availability is gonna be TIGHT!

Also, the town dock is first come, first served...so if you want me to check into overnighting there I can do that...

Lastly, the best place to stay is the SHYC and Les Black is the man over there...I can talk to him too, but having a bunch of noisey boats in there is gonna go over like a fart in church...it's a sleepy little town, and the natives are sailboters...

:)

cig1988 04-02-2004 07:58 AM

Hey Sean, nice house. when are you getting that bulk head in so we can have the summer fun run at your place?

Sean 04-02-2004 08:26 AM

thanks man :)

sure...rub it in....no bulkead for me...not even a lift...looks like i'll have to buy a blobote :)

stecz20 04-03-2004 10:19 PM

the trhird weekend in july are we set on that date?

topgunrcf 04-04-2004 12:06 AM

So far it looks like the 3rd week of July, but I still would like to get more opinion on which Run, NYC to Sag Harbor, or Sag to Nantuckett-Marthas Vineyard

I would say that NYC to SAG is a better run because if any boat has a problem you have a lot of spots on the north shore for them to come in to.

stecz20 04-04-2004 11:07 PM

i second that...nyc to sag.

WetKitty42 04-04-2004 11:12 PM

I'm in

Sag HArbor has a lot of noise restrictions as well.

cig1988 04-08-2004 06:00 AM

Greenport anyone? No noise restrictions there I know of. Brewers is just east of Claudios. Been there and was really impressed with thier services. Free shuttle to town, clean showers, bbq's etc.

Sean 04-19-2004 01:39 PM

Stan is probably right...Greenport will be more receptive...

Any more updates on this run?

Did we decide on a date?

topgunrcf 04-19-2004 06:09 PM

Hi Sean,

How are you? Still taking poll to see which weekend gets best results

Robbie

stecz20 04-19-2004 10:23 PM

third weekend in july. works for me, but im up for any date.

TIGER-1 04-20-2004 09:08 AM

Sounds great-let's go !!!!

Sean 04-21-2004 11:31 AM

im good for the third weekend and will be on Block Island the following weekend...might be a good trip to consider...I've got reservations at the Boat Basin and they've got a huge mooring field with launch that will come and get ya...The Oar is right there and Champlins is next door...both real fun places to hang out :)

try giving them a ring if you are interested...but they are filling up fast. think you can use a mooring there on a first come-first-served basis

Boat Basin--401-466-2631
Champlins---(401) 466-7777
Payne's dock is in New Harbor (401) 466-5572
