It depends on the lay-up. Cigarette made Fiberglass, Kevlar, and Carbon Fiber. Heaviest to the lightest.

We have a 1991 38 Top Gun made out of carbon fiber. Cigarette said it weighs 9400 lbs with 1/2 tank of fuel. That is light for a 38!

9,800 is what Cig published in their literature for a normal FG Top Gun in the mid 90's, and 9,400 is what was published for a normal FG Cafe'.

Craig Barrie informed me that the Carbon Fiber layup in my previous '91 Cafe' saved 400 pounds.
My bad it is 9400# I mistyped, my Tiger is 9800#

2) Do they really suck more gas than other boats the same size.
1) yes they are, but 'considerably' is subjective. As a comparision, a non stepped 35 Fountain Lightning weighs in at 8,600 pounds ( approximately ) and a 35 Cigarette Cafe' is 9,400 pounds.

2) yes due to more wetted / running surface in the water. The upside to that is that they ride VERY well, and you tend to stay nice and dry

I don't think you can compare a Cafe and a Fountain 35, you need at least a Fountain 38 to have the same length.

There IS a photo floating around on here where a 35 Cafe' is rafted next to a 35 Lightning and it does indeed dwarf it.
