thedonz- you are correct. although i own 1 of the 4 "Carbon Fiber F2 T/S's", to me, carbon fiber doesn't mean too much. either the boat will hold up and run good or it won't. i wouldn't care if it was layered w/ aluminum foil if it was structurally sound and performed to my expectations. :D

G- yes, i did reinforce the flooring in mine. it was very soft. i'll have to recheck the driver's station to see if it is in fact carbon fiber.

here is a picture of the cabin before i updated it. as you can see the top of the stringers are darker, which is the carbon fiber matting. unfortunatly, i don't have a picture of the underside of the deck.

hey jbk, long time no hear... how you pimping it out there in farm country....from the look of the dash pics long and hard. hows your pop? bobby has everyone all stressed out from all this carbon talk. hes just trying to push his rig so he can get the maxx boat. used car salesman are all the same, sell their mom for a buck...lol only kidding bobby....

the only reason owning a carbon boat does not mean too much to you cause you own one. speaking from the same family and me owning a cousin to your boat, its a bad ass rig and most men would give a left nut to own one of the four rigs you speak so softly about. im not trying to shine your shoes up like our boy bobby here but, ill put it in a way you can understand..... its like having a fine woman, not everyone can have one, but those of us who are lucky enough to enjoy a fine piece of tail, would never expect anything less... so in my eyes owning a cigarette, is kind of like having a fine piece of pune tang......in a round about sort of way......lol...Mr..Wonderful

LOL DAVE!!!!!! I'm not pushing my rig on to them. They have much faster boats. Only thing I say is that Bud from Cigarette talked to Neil who has been there for ages, and he said the only thing that is Carbon is the Hatch. Since this is what our next boat will be I don't want to believe it, but it's what Bud told me. I was kinda shocked myself, and STILL not happy about what I heard. I'm going to research it more.

By the way, anyone in the market for a pre-owned Mercedes? You know us used car salesman, must take every oppertunity to plug our business :D :D :D

LOL!!! Mr. Wonderful, i like the way you think. when you break it down that way (in terms of poontang and such) we can all understand, for we are on the same level.

.....and Bobby, if you want to sell your boat, drop the price. make it easy for people to overlook the TRS issue....:D take your lumps and move on. the MAXX boat won't be around forever!!! ;)

Bobby,

A carbon fiber hatch and no cabin is not enough to bring the weight down to 7800# ... talk to Phil for the real story.

Maybe Bud and Neil are talking about the Carbon70 models.

I don't want this to be true either. But, the difference is only 1400 lbs. 9200-7800. There are five main differences between a regular T/S and a F-2 T/S that I know of. Please correct me if I'm wrong or missed any.

1. No Cabin
2. No backseat
3. No cabin door
4. No swim platform
5. No electric hatch (carbon)

Like I said....I hope it isn't true. After we sell our boat I will call Phil because I know he is a busy man, and I don't want to bother him untill we are ready to purchase.

my engines are mounted about 6" closer than a normal T/S. i'm not sure if all of the F2 T/S were like this.

I believe they were all rigged to have the engines as close as possible. Mine has since been re-rigged with a more conventional measurement. One reason was the a prior owner installed 700+ Zul's with Stellings. There is no room for Stellings or the standard CMI's on the 525EFI with the original F2 setup. I'm sure the wider footprint with the addition of boxes would make the handling a lot different (??hoping for the better??). I know the F2 boats can be a handful but can't think of another boat I would own right now.

Re: Does anybody know this Cafe?

Just came back from looking at this boat, since it is only an hr away. (Getting the Cig itch :) )
The marina was closed, so I was able to scope it out real good except for under the hatch. :(

Top looked great.

The sides were clean and straight. The shine was somewhat splotchy. Amazing how flexible the sides were with a soft pounding from the fist. Had some rattles also. I assume this is do to the Carbon layup? The bottom was rock solid. The Cig logo (black circle and "Cigarette Racing Team" was repainted with a paint brush. Looks ok from a distance, but up close the brush marks show up.

The bottom needs work. The keel was scraped up and repaired by an non professional. Paint was flaking off on a several of the repair spots. There was alot of repair spots. All were repaired by a non pro. Looked like scrapes from an bad trailer or lift. All the chines and strakes were less than idea. Appeared to have had a DA taken to the edges. Nothing sharp and square there. In fact, alot of 'flat spots' on the edges and non uniform. Alot of sanding marks. Overall, the bottom was in really good shape. Just needs someone who knows what they are doing to repair all the spot repairs. More or less have the keel, chines and strakes gone over completely.
The drives:
Port side had the pipe plug repair job for the upper swivel pin. Bottom pin was worn, drive could be lifted up a little bit and wear seen at the lower pin. This transom assembly looked to be the original. (Different design from the starbord side) Standard gimble ring. Newer B1 drive. (Has the "Performance Bravo One" decal)

Starboard side. Transom assembly is of a newer year from port side. Everything appeared tight. Has the regular "Bravo One" decal on rear drive cap.

Both drives and tabs have had a poor spay can paint job. Over deep scratches and all. No prep work done. Very dull and rough. Skegs leading edges were filed a little, otherwise good shape with no missing peices.
Port side had a plain 30" Bravo 1 prop, Starboard side was labbed. Neither were new, but in good shape. No dings or dents.

Cockpit looked very clean. All the grab rails and swim platform were dull, faded and in need of recoating. Engine hatch Cig logo appeared to be the original that was cut out in the oval shape, had the edges rolled under, then whole logo sewn on top of a new hatch pad. I'm not familar if this is factory way of doing it or if a repair job. Just not what I would have expected. (EDITED, have since been told this is the original way) Was getting dark, so couldn't see in cabin good enough to give a report.
The top, side joint where the glove box meets the hull side was cracked the full length. STress cracks?? Don't know if that is supposed to be a chaulk or if the glove box and dash is part of the hull top side. Also appeared that area was repainted. The screws on top and the edges around the inside of glovebox were covered under paint. Had a very glossy and different texture than the rest of the boat.

Nice newer 2002 white Myco trailer. Very little rust.

In short, not a bad boat. But needs bottom work and the drives and tabs stripped and repainted for the cosmetic appeal, with the port side transom assembly needing attention for the obvious. This boat is said to have been raced.

Keep in mind these are just my observations from more or less a costmetic veiwpoint, not structual or mechanical. Your on your own there. :)

SO, anyone want to trade their mint Cig for my mint Fountain and go faster? :D

Yes, the feeling the boat flexes on the sides is from the carbon fiber. Our Gun is the same way.

US1-Great details. What size is your Fountain? Will you take a Gun w/TRS? :D
