What's the story on the MAXX boat? It's been for sale for a long time ... are there issues?

Each boat is set up differently.

The Maxx is not the same as yours.

I've seen yours an the Maxx, an they are rigged quite different

I have an article from when i was looking at the cafe and top gun carbon 70 boats in 1991, there were six cafes and 6 carbon 70 top guns built.

The Carbon 70 option was a guarantee that the boat would run at least 70 mph. They used Carbon fiber among other things to make a lighter, reliable package that again, would run 70+ whenever you wanted.

The four carbon fiber Top Guns were all race boats weighing in around 7800 pounds dry. Also, they were all rigged differently since each race customer rigged their own boats. As far as I know none were completely rigged by Cigarette. The Virgin boat was rigged by Tres at Martin Offshore and SpeedRacer (aka Dick Simon Marine) was rigged by Dick Simon. That is why each of the boats are slightly different. They each had their own ideas of what they thought would make their boat the fastest.

One other thing to add - NONE of the four boats is in its original race form anymore. Each of the boats have been "pleasurized" to some degree. The most upgrades have gone into the ex-Team Virgin boat. The owner spent a small fortune to create an awesome custom interior. If someone has pics of the boat before and after I am sure everyone would love to see them. SpeedRacer (aka Dick Simon) was pleasurized by myself with the help of Tres at Martin Marine and Dan at Archer Marine. It was essentially turned into a circa-2000 pleasure Top Gun cockpit. Gary's boat was also redone by Phil at Lipship. The boat that appears to have the least amount of upgrades is the MAXX boat which is still for sale. I cannot believe that someone has not purchased this boat yet. It is priced well and has a ton of potential in terms of upgrading it into an incredible Poker Run boat. Also, I believe it may be the only one of the four that never experienced an "incident" in its heyday.
