Ok guys I bought Birdogs Bullet and it has a great new Eagle trailer under it, the problem is I going to use the boat in salt water. I either need to sell this trailer and buy a aluminum trailer or I might try to find a cheep aluminum trailer and keep both. I can not afford to buy a nice aluminum trailer like a allison or a myco right now. How long will the Eagle (steel) last if I try and flush it real good after every use? Does anyone know anybody who is looking for one?

If you wash it everytime right after you launch or reload it'll last a few years. Keep the bearings lubed and spraying with wd40 helps too. If it has drum brakes just replace every year. The whole setup is only like 60 bucks a wheel. Expect to see some rust at joints and any stone chips. But thats only cosmetic. My steel trailer lasted 4 years, and was still pretty good when I sold it.

If you flush the trailer ...it will last, but that is a pain. I'm sure that someone here might be interested in that Eagle and then you can get an aluminum one. You can get one from Nextrail for about $5000.
How much would you want for the Eagle?

The Eagle has Disc brakes on all 3 axles.

The trailer is a 2002 and it is in great shape as you can see it was a ten thousand dollar trailer new I think that it should be worth at least 6500.00.

Thanks for the info Dan I am dilligent enough that I would wash it ,flush it everytime and fix the chips anytime I seen one. I wanted to make sure that if I started using it it would at least five years!

That's too nice a traler to ruin in salt water. If it has box tube frame, you'll won't be able to rinse the salt from the inside, and that is where the rust will start.

I would rather sell it Chart so I could buy an aluminum one to use in the salt! Does anyone know anybody looking!

I wouldn't dunk it in salt. It won't be long before problems start showing up.

i have no problems with my steel myco and i dip it in salt. just wash it and grease on a regular basis and you will have no problems. most people ignore their trailer and these are the peeps with the problems for the most part. i have tres old 89 myco that was his trailer for his top gun. i just did a lot of work to it and i saw every corner of the trailer, its still in great shape and will look brand new this spring.

IF you don't have to have a trailer right now (pay for temp storage at a dry dock marina) try listing your trailer on OSO, ebay, boat trader, etc, as well as contact cig dealers/resellers in the mid-west. There is a shortage of quality used steel trailers in the 30 - 40 range, and I'd think you'd have little trouble selling it. Then you'd have the funds to buy a quality alum trailer.

Lutz Party had an alum Myco from his 311 for sale last year, but he did little promoting of it that I know of. If it's still avail, you'd be wise to consider it.
