Mat,

Hope you're enjoying your new project. Call me if you need anything else. I'm working on the trailer title.

What to do for power? 1st option: 3 brand new complete 525 engine/ drive package. 2nd: Have a local guy here build 3 engines out of Donovan alum. block/ alum. heads. 660 c.i. roughly 700 h.p., and 800 lbs of torque, three imco drives. Or 3rd choice have Joey Griffen build 3 600 hp motors and imco drives. Choice one is most cost effective followed by choice two is only 3-4k more and choice 3 is about 13k more than the 525's. What would you do?
Thanks for the input.
Mat

I would go for the 525's, get your warrantee's, and run every weekend.

If you want reliability and less cost go with the 525's for sure. If money is no object and you want WILD...stagger some 1350's in the bad boy and hook up some SSM #6's. Either way you go...it's a Rough Rider

Aint that the statement of the thread!! Sweet a$$ boat right there! I'd do the 525's for the reliability and you'll still get your 80 out of it.

mat...i think you and i exchanged emails about the Hustler that was for sale at Falcon...if that is true, i'm glad to see you finally found your "project" awesome boat...congrats! my .02 would be fo go for the 525s from mercury...hands down...i too have learned...you'll spend more time on the water and less time at the dock.

Sean. you are right. I did like the 50ft Hustler that was for sale at Falcon. Who ended up with that boat? Do they have it running yet? The high performance boating world sure is small. Take care.
