Scale Model of 32' Cary "The Cigarette"
#1
Does anyone know the details about the original scale model of Don Aronow's 32' Cary "The Cigarette?" I can recollect seeing this model in the book Muscle Boats, as well as in some old ads for Aronow Powerboats.
I feel like there was a thread here or maybe the Donzi registry boards about this model, how many were produced, where they are, etc. I know Michael Aronow has one at home, he mentioned that somewhere else, but as far as I know there weren't any available.
I am interested in any information or photos that anyone has, Brownie? Scott? Craig? Someone help me!
Thanks guys, have a happy, healthy and prosperous new year!

Hey guys, I wrote the original post regarding the scale model of the original 32' Cigarette, made in Europe for Don Aronow. Lucky Strike is on target and knows what I am talking about.
I had the opportunity a few years back to purchase the sistership to the original "The Cigarette" raceboat, it was a 32' Cary/Cigarette named Boss-O-Nova, built by Aronow for Bill Wishnick. The boat was in Ohio and had been somewhat bastardized, outboards put on a bracket, etc. Too much of a schlep to go there from Florida to look at it . . .
So, I had to settle for a smaller one, on Christmas day, I was the eBay high bidder on one of the original 12 scale models. Attached below are some pictures of the model, as well as a picture of my 35' Mistress that I am currently completely refitting.
Lucky Strike, when my boat is done, I'd love to meet you and LS Jr. and the other Cig guys in South Florida, go for a lunch run or something . . . I thought I was the youngest guy on the board at 22, but I think he's got me beat. All of your posts have provided great entertainment and information and I look forward to reading more!

And last but definitely not least, my baby . . . the '78 Mistress, being refit to replicate the original 32' Cigarette, kind of a tribute to Aronow

Do you still have the information on that boat in Ohio?
Any pics or phone numbers?

Jim:
Power and drives should be getting dressed out next week, and installed shortly thereafter . . . then its on to the interior modifications and painting of the decks. We're getting there. Drop me a message next time you are in Florida and we'll hook up. What line of work is your buddy in Jupiter in?
Top Banana:
Wishnick's 32' was for sale in Ohio probably five or more years ago . . . I doubt that I still have the information on it, but if I should come across it, I'll forward it along. By the way, I've seen posts of yours regarding a 35' race boat you and your son are restoring? I'd love to come down and see it sometime. Drop me a PM and we'll talk.
