That's exactly how these boats are valued. I can tell you the Cafe is easily top 3 of my favorite Cigarette's ever. A completely upgraded one with nice power would be worth more to me than a bigger, less detailed model. I say go for it if you love it and plan to keep it for awhile. If you plan to shop for something bigger or different in a year, you will lose on the deal. |

Re: 35 cafe... how much?
1989 do you have a picture or hull number? cb
|
Re: 35 cafe... how much?
i dont have the hull number in front of me but boat originally had black transom with black teal and pink stripes. it also had everglades offshore racing team decals on side between bolsters and back seat. every thing on this boat is new and was bought from cigarette including interior and new 2003 bolsters and bases. it would cost $40.000 to bring a trs gun to this level if your, doing the work.i dont realy want to sell the boat but cash talks.

Re: 35 cafe... how much?
Go get yourself a mechanics mirror and cordless drill. Then spend at least 2 hours digging into every crack and crevas and under every cusion and seat from the tip of the anchor locker to the outside lower corner of the transom. Look for loose stringers, bulkheads, flooring, etc. Look for soft spots in the cockpit flooring. I have an 89 cafe. When I went shopping, I looked at 4. Two were real pretty. All but one had a loose bulkhead or stringer, etc. The most cosmetically nice one had a 1/2" crack in the cowling in front of the glove box. The boat I ended up buying needed cosmetics but the hull was flawless. It had racing team stickers on it? Look REAL hard. You can put lipstick and makeup and a prom dress on a pig, but when you wake up next tot her in the morning, she's still a pig.
Not to burst your bubble, but look real hard. I bought a real pretty Donzi once that cost thousands to fix afterwards. Also, here's another question, how long ago did the boat get painted? Paint is great for covering up stress fractures when it is fresh. Then, you take it out on a day of 3-4 footers and when you are cleaning it at the end of the day, new fault lines appear. Hey, if the bost is all it appears to be, go for it. BUT, look REAL hard first! 80K is 80K. Mongo |
