The 90 mph were fun boats. I can't remember how I got the idea. That's what time does. They were something in there day. cb

Jamie B I would love to have a copy of your prints I will email you shortly.

I don't know what to say. With the dash being changed, engine hatch changed for the blowers, extension box's, #5's, cleats where changed to pin type, I can see where the line chock holes have been plugged, I guess changing the stripe would have been no big deal. Tres did mention blocking and clear coating it but don't remember anything about the stripe.
This is all I have to go by.

If I remember right Tres told me he worked at Everglades and work on it while he was there.

I saw some of the pictures he has in his project book last year when I was down there.

let set the record straight. Dougs boat is the original 90 MPH. One day when I pull out my scrap boat I will show you guys. The boat was sold through my father @ Everglades to a Mr Frank Arnold who owned it for many years. When I tested the boat from the factory with hawks it ran 88 MPH. As the time passed the owner wanted to go faster. He hated the paint job. It was not a black stripe on the brochure, it is dark blue and Frank did not like that so we removed the black stripe and repainted it Red. We also added 6 coats of clear and block sanded the boat to get the best finish. as time passed this boat was kept in a wharehouse in which I was instructed every year to strip the boat and start all over every year. new interior even if it was perfect and anodize again rebuild the engines etc., you name it . It was my pet project boat, and I kept it perfect every night. It soon became called "unpredictable" in which we got a 2nd cig we jazzed up and called it " predictable" had a reverse paint job. After we sold the Predictable boat, we renamed the 90 MPH " The Hardway" after the craps table. This boat was always kept in a wharehouse with all his show cars on a race style Myco. It was allways a show boat but was a Rocket in the poker runs, 40 to 100 MPH in 4.5 secs. and everone knew this boat well. Later down the road, It got sold to a guy in Chicago, named Ben. It did not get maintaned to much and many other got there hands on it and when I last saw it I almost cried. It had not received the same kind of attention that was used to. But it got too many stories for me to list here but ,,, Its the one. I put a lot of time , money and energy into that boat. Hopefully it can be restored back to show condition again.
