i know this is a really poor job of photo shop, but i had a bad program and i did it quick while i could not sleep. what do you guys think about this for my cafe racer. ive been kicking around a few american flag paint jobs, but just love the classic looks of a solid paint job. i stole the pic from 2112, its a gladiator so its close to size for my cafe. im just throwing ideas around and wanted to see what you guys thought. i love it... dave

I like it, however I would go with the 1/2 90mph paint job... front half white, back half red. It would look great on your boat.

The red will look good, but I'm partial to the flag graphics. Red, white & Blue.....That's my choice, if I had one. Good luck

I would post a pic of my rig but its a teal & gray Baja & I don't think that paint will look good on your cafe......and I don't even think you can classify mine as a "rig" :D :D

The American Flag graphics are great when they are done right, however I like the thought of the red sides too. I am very partial to the "classic" look, so much that if I ordered a 2005 Top Gun I'd probably get it with a boot stripe. If it's a classic, keep it classic looking.

I've never been a fan of flag graphics myself. I think I'd get tired of looking at it after a couple months. I think Cafe's have the absolute best looking lines of a classic offshore, and shouldn't be muddled up with wild graphics of any kind.

Just my opinion, I could be wrong.

But if you have to have flag, this is my alltime favorite. Does anyone know whatever happened with this boat? I know if was for sale at a real reasonable price.

Dave, I like the first pic in this post (#8). The Gladiator with flag graphics. I like the red stripe fading and sweeping all the way to the bow and trailing off. Looks nice and gives the it the lines *I* like. Otherwise like GLH said get the buffer warmed up. :) Anyway you go you need to like it 100% who cares what anyone else thinks! :D :D That's what I always say ... F 'em :evilb: :evilb: :eek: :drink:

stecz i have pictures when it was being painted and finushed. i will get my wife to try to post them. also if you like it i have the stensil that they made off of the first side to do the other side which would make the layout much quicker. you can use it as long as you dont come down to the chesapeake bay. just kidding. let me know.

very nice....thanks for the impute. i have time, i wanted to send the rig down to tres to do the dash, as always my mind has changed about what i want to do. as long as i know what the paint will look like ill have a good idea of what the dash will look like. im not to crazy about out of control graphics, but i love a great american flag paint job, and you cant go wrong with a classic one as well. dave

I know its a Fountain, but this is one of the more tasteful American flag paint jobs I have seen.

MnHowardCat, i love your boat. Did you purchase the trailer new? Can you send me some info on how you like it? Im trying to find a nice aluminum trailer for a Top Gun.

The trailer is a 2003 Ace triple torsion axle it's easy to load and unload and it tows good so I would say I don't have any complaints

you could always do the red like your painted pic and then have a flag job ghosted into it, with some silver pearl to accent with.

I met the lady who owned it last year at a poker run. She said she saw it on ebay. Her husband was out of town, and he told her to go ahead and buy it. They had it painted. It sure was a head turner, but don't know how well it performed. She was a real sweetheart and proud of her boat.
