Re: 42 Tiger TS or X

I would like to run mid to upper 80's. Triples would be cool but I like the twins for some reason. I'm thinking of the new 600's to keep my cost lower and you know by the time the warranty is up they will have some nice aftermarket additions to increase the HP. With this in mind I am leaning more to the X. But the deck on the TS is so long it makes the boat feel even larger then it really is.

I think if you want a big powered twin engine boat with #6 drives go for the 42-X. If you want a smaller powered twin engine boat with Bravo's, go for the regular 42 Tiger T/S.

Hideaway Marina has a brand new 2005 42 Tiger T/S with 525EFI's that runs 84mph and was the 2004 Fort Lauderdale Boat Show Boat. Talk to Eddie and tell him "Lucky Strike" sent you.

There is also the 2005 42 Triple that was in the Miami Show listed in the classifieds.

I would go with the 42X. Ours was on the cover of Boating Mag last December. It was the first one on the street. We went with 1050 Sterlings. The boat topped 115. That wasn't enough. So we went to a 46XP with the 1075SCi :D

As for an opinion if you care BEAST1 I would love a staggered 42 X and if I choose any boat for me next it would most likely be that. The only thing I dont like is the how the gauges are arranged in the driver cluster, I understand in the X the cluster has to be more upright to get the space to stagger the engines but I would push to have more gauges on the driver side.
I love the cluster on the TS Tigers, 12 gauges in sort of a box set up with the RPM's on top, I have found running my boat when you are at cruising speed all the needles are pointing at 12 o'clock makes it easy to monitor and when something is askew it sticks out right away. It looks like they have anough space on the X to set up the gauges that way also but I have never seen it. I am not crazy about having gauges on the passenger side, maybe save for voltage and gas like it is in the Top Guns and Non X Tigers.

Just my humple opinion if you care.

-42 X with trips
-42 X cluster
-42 Classic set up

I totally agree with this assessment.

There is one other advantage the X provides. In a staggard situation, the forward weight of the second engine (towards the rear bench) keeps the nose down when coming on plane as opposed to loosing the horizon.

I believe that is a little bit of computer work for that image. That boat has been for sale for awhile, haven't heard anything about it sinking. I saw that picture and thought I'd be pissed if my boat was for sale and Hot Boat photoshopped a picture of it sinking. That could make for a tough sale
