I have a 1980 28SS with twin 350's / TRS and it weights around 7,000 lbs. It's a sold/heavy boat but nothing rides like it in the rough!

I have a sales book from the 70's that puts it at net weight 5000lbs. (approx.) Then add everything else on and it has to weigh in at 7500lbs.

That sounds about right. I have a 28 Open that is converted to a single and tips the scales at 6,000 lbs.

My 28 had twin 350 420 hp each and topped out at around 74 MPH. Best boat I ever owned. They just don't make them like the 28 SS.

Amen...I'd be boating today if I hadn't sold mine...
