K.A.Z.,
I went and looked at my hatch and I really don't have any decisive info for you!!! There is a "strut or shock" ram which is held on by a couple of screws, but it is really held in place by two pins or a rod that I couldn't tell how it would be removed. I would suggest calling Tres Martin and asking him. I'm sure he would know the answer. Sorry I couldn't be of more assistance!!

I have my Bullet main hatch out now (I had to force it out). I see the machined notches in one of the hinge pins, but the pin appears to be frozen. Is there just a spring behind the pin or is there some type of mechanism that was fiberglassed into the hatch? My is frozen so badly, I may have to use surface hatch hinges and bolt it to the deck
