I am not involved in offshore boats but a dear friend of mine was way way back in the day I stared researching some of the boats he told me stories about. I noticed some of the names mentioned on here that I had heard from him. His stories include runs from Miami to the Bahamas with Brownie and working on the building of Ajac Hawk. If there are any old timers still around that may remember William (Bill) Harris, he passed last Monday 7/10/23. Not sure what nicknames he may have had back then. I have called him Hawk for the last 30 years. Also know he was called Sidecar Willlie too.

Very cool!
Dont think I’ve seen one as an IO?
Knew a guy yrs ago that had one w/twin 2.4 Mercs and although it was over the top on optics I always thought it was way too heavy for that power.
Congrats!

How's this for old school? Just brought home a '79 Webbcraft 26 with twin 350's. The construction under the floor looks more like barn beams than stringers! 'Ol man Webb must have had his own Teak forest!

Got the props on the other day, checked timing and dwell (yes, still has points ignition), fluids, and another general once over. Props are ss Balistic's, 14-1/4x25.

14- 1/4 x 25 SS Ballistic props
Dropped her in the harbor yesterday for a quick shake down run inland and then headed out to the big lake for a spin up to the Sauble Lighthouse and back.

Water test 8/1/23
For my first every Lake Michigan run as a driver, I was very happy. Boat was very stable and with some tab rode the lake waves great (for a novice boater). The twin SBC's ran great (made it back onto the trailer), sound great, and the port engine stalled once at low idle so we'll check carb adjustments here in the next couple of days. The lake was relatively calm but did manage to launch the boat off a couple of the big ones and the boat (and the wife) took it all in stride.

Twin 350's
Back in the inlet open water did a couple of short WOT runs and got the SBC's up to 5000 rpms but didn't have much time / experience to play with tab and trim levels. No speedo or GPS on this trip, but thats not my goal for this boat. Wanted a safe, solid boat to play with and I'm very happy at this point. The rest of the ride was playing around the marinas practice stopping, spinning, and fake docking the boat around. Drove it up to the dock, stuffed the trailer under it and pulled it out. No water out of the plug and we all had a great ride!
