Shades of Jon Culver on that first shot...beautiful boat.

The 21` shadow was my all time fave. I had a 21` Apache Bobby custom built for me with twin 2.5 EFI`s back in 1982/83 ran close to 97 mph. ran out of bottom at 80 mph, then you had to drive it, no what I mean!!!!!!!!!!!! Love the wing you are doing, wish it had a couple of 1350 stackers on it. Keep up the good work, say hello for me. 7XCHAMP richie
What you really have to consider is that some of those JJ boats did not have counter rotated props......
Thanks for the complement...coming from you...that really means something.
Now here's one for you...... When I did the NNRT and ESPN live to tape narrating... I realised that what I had over the other announcers was a long, experienced memory and a book of technical knowledge that allowed me to have something to say throughout the race (most of the others "ran out of gas" after blowing their wads on lap one...and began repeating themselves...or simply saying Wow...golly gee!). I was pretty smug about that for a few years. Than I saw a race where you were interviewed...and I said to myself...."Self.....if you ever get hit by a bus...Powers is at least as good and probably better.".... besides you had hair.
Warmest personal regards from Darren and me.

By the way the two helmets in the original (brown/beige) boat..were Linder and me in its first ever race on Long Island Sound. It was stinking rough......look closely at the water in the picture.
We lapped another builder in that race.......twice.
He was also in his first race hull....
It was called an Executioner.

Simple technique that made Jon and his partner, Cliff Reif, very tough to beat in their "Stamper" Glastrons..........

Etc. Etc. we need to sit and tell stories from the beginning and record it all, with and without liquor. Thanks for all you have done, and glad to see it`s not over, but just starting again with these forums, I would enjoy replying more but have time constrants, and have to be in the mood. 7XCHAMP
