She looks a little rough from when I built her, notice the trick aluminum work, and the exhaust through the deck instead of transom, I`m also the guy who started routing all the hoses and wiring through PVC under the tanks to exit in front of the motors so you could hardly see any hoses or wires. All the pumps should be mounted on the forward bulkhead not in the engine room, also should all be the trick pumps with billit bases and adjustable press. valves all of which were designed by me and Mr. K., best the boat ever ran was 90MPH down wind with tide going out, race conditions was 86 to 88. At 90 the boat was scary, as were the 38` Bertrams ala Benihana all Kevlar with hull and deck weight before rigging of 2,200 lbs. I rigged one of those as well along with many many others, I have many stories about rigging the boat you have, as well as building a fifthe wheel trailer for it in same shop, to go along with one of the first Peterbilts on the circuit. I built a 38` scarab Mich lite boat with all stainless mounts gaurds etc. instead of alum. that was the last one. she went down with a load in the gulf stream, was picked up in a shrimp net off New Orleans. Like I say I built a lot of them, me and Bob Beich. all the best 7Xchamp richie powers

Phil....you can't get a better source than Richie Powers for info on this boat.

Thanks Richie, that is exactly what we are trying to do with HORBA, get real information to the people that are trying to restore these old boats again.
