mel repaired one of my drives this summer. price has less then the quote. and the service has great. he talked to me on the phone like we where old friends. great guy great family/crew.

I get a kick out of some of the guys on here that go to "outdrive pros" and then go to Mel after they can't get a season (usually a lot less than a season) out of their drives.
Mel did one of my SSM 3A drives in June of 2003 and after the season was over I took them both back to Mel to service and inspect them both.
Not only did he treat me fair on the rebuild but he came in under the original quote. There is no doubt as to where I'll go if I need further Speedmaster work done.
Mel is a great guy and does great work. Just my opinion.

Mel Riggs is the most knowledge person around these parts...he can find you parts and engines that others can't.As the story goes he was Fired by Carl Kiekhaefer numerous times but Carl just kept bring him back.
They are all family up there the 3 boys due the work and and Mel solves problems and loves to talk about boats.He worked on my Maltese with twin 650's, and will be putting in brand new 383's in the old Gentry Race boat..told you he can find things that no one can ...He is the best and is located in Eldorado WI.Bud
