Nice... Keep um comming. Is that the actual Cigarette engine compartment or one like it? I thuoght they were running Kinsler fuel injection with some sort of headers?

The picture was taken in 1970 on the new Black Tornado,former one of the The Cigarette.
The fuel injections came in 1971 with the engines prepared from the Indy wizard Andy Granatelli for the Blondes of Roger Hanks and in Europe with Lucas systems in the Lady Nara of Ronny Bonelli of the Italian team Firebird.

Look closely at the photo....there was only one set of throttles....the position of throttleman didn't begin until Bobby Moore started doing the throttles for Bill Wishnick, which was after Don had retired.

Don's hand is on the throttles as seen in this photo.

Do a search under (Aronows original cigarette ) and there is an old thread there that has a lot of info.Does someone know how to do a link or possibly move that thread in here where it can be found?

look how small the port is on the exhaust manifolds

Gotta love those old log manifolds, hard to beleive that is what they were runiing for exhaust back then you hafta wonder how they made so many horses back in the day.Compression?
