I spoke to the guy also about buying it, he also told me he was putting 2.4 outboards on it . i told him he was nuts, and had to educate him that merc has not made a 2.4 in about 10 years. that boat will never get out of its own wake with 4/250hp outboards. that boat was never owned by bobby kaiser. the problem i see , is that it would cost a fortune to rig and still be a 14 yr old boat. probably the only guy who could rig that boat properly would be bob's old t-man errol lanier.

It was not built for Howard Arneson. We never had an aluminum boat. We had the WOOD boats..

It was built for Arneson Surface Drives. The wedge plates were welded to the hull.

ASD8-16 are the drives that were supposed to be rigged on the boat.

LOL . . so ya met Wayne huh? yes he has some interesting thoughts on the 'ol Cougar. its actually a pretty cool piece, never been rigged or wet. i will probably stop an see him tommorow. anybody got any questions on the boat? i know he has been wanting to move that thing though. he was even playing with the idea of putting some kind of canopy on it and deisels. i agree the outboars wont do that boat very well, hell toss in a set of 750's an have some fun with it .

Wayne has been around boating for some time an has had some interesting rigs. think he just got rid of one of those big 'ol Nitro's. 43 footer i think.

Like I just have wrote in the thread "Systems" that unrigged Cougar seems a sister boat of Reporter, the 38' that Curtis used to race in 1988.
It seems be a 38' with the tunnel extended behind the sponsons.
