it says Jesse James on the side because it was almost an exact copy of the original Jesse James. They put it on there as a tribute to Mark. But the boat in the picture is the old Recovery boat. Hope this helps, great find please share any others...

The Original JJ had the cockpit moved aft a couple of feet to fit the canopies after '86.
Did Recovery have the same thing. That boat raced in Japan in some emperors cup challenge or something in the late 90's. Was then sold to another person over there that converted it into a pleasure style cockpit. Thats the picture I saw that the cockpit looked more forward like the original. I have been looking for that boat for some time now. Always wondered which boat was what and were.
Any more pictures anyone has as well as location would be great....

After looking at the picture olli posted, it for the most part re-confirms my thought that it was the Recovery boat that was in these pictures / videos.. I still would love to know were the original is.
Thank you olli and chew for enlighting me...

Yes that is the old Recovery, And it is exact to the JJ35 from the sheer down, Except If I recall correctly we did end up building a bulbus hump at the front tunnel entry area At the owners request to change the shape (after the tunnel was finished so it was an add on) However the canopies, cockpit, and hatch arrangement were much much different then that of the JJ.

You can find them on the aft deck of just about any MTI. It's that raised rounded section that conflicts with all of the rigidly straight lines everywhere else on the hull.

Bringing an old thread out. Old School Reunion is this weekend at Brownies on the Lake. I will have my Chris Cat there and some pics of the original Jesse James - based on the 30' Chris Cat.
