New Aronow book and DVD
As announced here previously, in honor of the fact that Don Aronow would have been 80 years old this year 2007, we have been looking at ideas to keep his legacy alive.
Many of you have given us excellent suggestions and please accept our thanks for that.
What we have decided on, is a new book called:
DON ARONOW... The creator of Thunderboat Row.
The book will be a history of the boat companies that he created, Formula, Magnum, Donzi, Cigarette and Squadron XII. It will consist of photos from the very early years that have not been published before. .
There will be a total of between 80 and 100 photos. Each photo will have a description and in some cases a short story to go along with it that may be significant.
At this point we are looking at a coffee table format size.
In addition, to all purchasers of the book, we will include a FREE copy of the 60's offshore racing movie Run Sunward.
The attorneys have determined that the history rights of the movie are still clouded, but we are allowed to give free copies away, so that is what we will do......to the purchasers of the book.
At this time we calculate the price will be between $80.00 and $125.00.
If you are interested, please write to us at HORBA www.historicraceboats.com ....go to the contact section and let us know that you want to order for sure.... and we will save your spot.
We may only do a limited number run as we can't determine the real interest in buyers yet. We could always do a second run in the coming years.
By next week, we will be set up on HORBA in the store section to accept deposits of $25.00 via Pay pal to secure your order. The balance will be due when the book and DVD are ready for shipping.
This is a joint project between HORBA and Michael Aronow. Don's birthday was March 1st. We hope to be close to shipping by then.

We can only do so much......right now we are concentrating on....the new book, the new open ocean race series and the get together in April for the old race boats.
Posters are a great idea....just not yet.
