Lou Cooper's Miss Gallo,, a Maverick Marine hull, Lou was a Detroit wine distributor. This boat would later become the Hustler, Then Break-Out, this boat is now under restoration.

This pic was taken at Grand Haven Mi [1986-7?] The water was nasty, and just after finishing the race the Ambusher begain to sink. Mike did not want to let her down, but Lake Michigan eventually Won !!!!

The year 1971,, there were not any [ official ] race's on lake St Clair,, More Magnum's, Donzi's were appearing on the lake. This was one of them,, a Donzi I believe belonging to Wally Harper before he raced his famous Lil Smidgen Magnum. Twin 302 vee drive Ford's in a 21' Donzi, must have been some ride!!

Here are few more examples of Mirage race boat's, that raced in the late 70's. One of them was just posted by [justbassing]. His white Mirage was the Lasalle race boat 30 year's ago.

This Pantera raced by Detroiter Dave Feder, back then we could still race around the Freighter's that were on the river. Today this Pantera can stll be seen on Lake St Clair 25 year's later, sporting a new all white paint job, and still bad fast !!
