Donzi Doral [P-300 HEAT WAVE]

I just finished the [do not break the bank] restoration on my 1974 Donzi Doral. In the 38 years since this Donzi was built it has gone through many changes. From it's beginning as most likely the cover boat on the Donzi catalog, to a APBA P class race boat, than back to a pleasure boat.
About 4 years ago I saw this Donzi on cragslist Detroit for sale & thought it would make a good parts boat for one of my Magnum restorations, but I lost track of it. I found it for sale again a year later, it was covered in snow and in ruff shape and it was home to a family of chipmunks, but I had to have it. After getting her home I found it was the old P-300 HEAT WAVE defiantly a boat worth keeping. After taking her apart I found the transom was shot no real surprizes on a 30++ year old hull. Using ebay & craigslist I found all the parts I needed to put her back together. I even found a pair of 350cu 300hp Crusader engines on one of the forums. I was able to clean up the original interior, not perfect but very useable. Doing the work myself would be the only practical way to do this so it took longer than I thought but it's finally done .
I had it out over the holiday weekend and it runs really good for a 24' boat that's gone through many changes.

Thanks Bud.. When I did this restoration I did to be nice, not to be a 10 like your Maltese. From 10 feet back it looks really good. I plan to use this Donzi as a back up for my Magnum Sport, or when I need a boat with a bigger cockpit than the Magnum .

Man that thing looks a lot like a 1970 Manza 19' I just finished. Just bigger.

Great looking Monza, I like how you do all your work outside in your yard. That's how I do it too, who needs a building. :party-smiley-004:
