If you raced in the Great Lake's back in the 70's 80's 90's you will remember these two Detroit Icon's sadly they are no more. Stroh's was a Great Sponsor of Offshore Racing, & Lake St. Clair Offshore Racing Assocation put on some Great Race's, the club had one last party in June of 2005 and then we turned off the light's one last time.

If not mistaken, Cervino had a 35' bubbledeck & then an early 37.5 Cigarette in the pict? before moving on to a ~41' Cougar cat. Whatsay you Magnum Mark?

Bob,

Didn't they sink that boat in Point Pleasant at its last race ?

I remember it being at Proroc for some time and it was in bad shape then...

I could only imagine what it looks like now...

Kenny Black's boat, "the Whopper" pacing the race in #26 is a 32' twin inboard Cary that I built for him in 1974.

The year 1977 the Magnum Active-8-er, I believe was Pete Smith's Original
Magnum Wolverine. The owner is listed as non other than
Bud Drettman,, [ Active boat's ] and co driver R Focht,, [Active ,Image , Express , ect] the other pic's show the Vee bottom boat they built, and the original Active cat year's later.

This pic show's Kenny Black's Lil Rhino 27' Magnum just after winning the July 28 1973 Cleveland Ohio race. The race was so early the Magnum still had the stock seat's. Also notice who helping dock the Mag at the stern,, Rich First who later became the APBA Offshore Referee at many of the race's in the 80's.
