Mike those are some great shots. Thanks for posting them. I hope you don't mind if I adjusted the shadows out of some of them... I wanted to see some of the details and figured a few others might as well.:drink:

Last pics.....Replacement Merc 750 EFI's.........and instant 15 mph gain over previous motors, sitting on some trick roll-arounds and another pic of WARCY in action. Stellings built a custom one-off float-on trailler a bit later in the game. Best speed on radar was 119. Weight including trailer was around 13,000 lbs.

Tanks mikiedreb!
Is it still a 38'? Was that Active former something? |
Black Tornado...I called it a 38, but may have been a 37. Never actually took a tape to it. I'm not sure if the bustle mounted on the transom was included in the length. I seem to remember this Active Cat being the former Chrysler Laser boat.....

It seems that Chrysler Laser was the former Wolverine. But Wolverine seem is still alive somewhere.
But for this I think it's better open another thread. |

Ok.....lastest info on WARCRY.....formerly Wolverine, Systems, Daddy Cool, Priority One...then WARCRY. Canopies installed and bottom work performed by Westerly Marine in Cost Mesa, Ca., rigging done at PSA Marine in Alameda, Ca. Boat ultimately went to Lake of the Ozarks where rumor had it to be fitted w/turbines.

Sorry but you have the wrong Active cats, the early Active cats did not have the tunnel extension, the pic in post #55 of A J Roberts clearly shows that. Go to Back in The Day post to read the rest.

Ok guys I think that we must open a new thread dedicated to the Active cats!
However it seem that Wolverine was not next Chrysler-Gallagher Systems but next AJ Jr'S Mr. Roberts.....can we put exact order to all that?! |

Hello,
I'm new to this but I believe this is a cougar 41? Used to Race in NZ until 1996 where it suffered a large accident in Auckland harbour. I used to love watching this boat race and is what inspired me to get into the Offshore racing scene! http://i95.photobucket.com/albums/l1...leetlease1.jpg http://i95.photobucket.com/albums/l1...fleetlease.jpg http://i95.photobucket.com/albums/l1...388misc126.jpg It was then shipped to Australia where it was rebuilt and has since had a couple of new canopies. Its also currently for sale although looks incrediably different. link here: http://www.aopc.com.au/classifieds.htm http://www.aopc.com.au/images/classifieds/cat42.jpg (These pics don't belong to me just ones I found on the web) |
warcry has turbines
I have been working on the WARCRY boat for about 3 months and thought that I would do a little research on this boat. My name is Jim Grasham owner of Principle Propulsion Systems. I am doing a power conversion to the WARCRY boat for owner Michael Meyers from Lake of the Ozarks. WE started on WARCRY in March 07 and hope to have it in the water by 9-11-07. I would love to talk to anyone regarding this boat. The boat has been in AZ for at least 5 years and has some damage due to the heat but WARCRY will get wet again this summer with a pair of Lycoming T53 engines producing 2000 SHP each. I would like to know more about this boat if anyone has any info. This is WARCRY. And yes there is a picture I found while crawling up the sponson wiring the lights. Nice guys. We are working on this boat with alot of passion. WE upgraded the crash box with the scs gearbox. Feel free to contact me at 520 245- 2849 or e-mail me at [email protected] if you have any questions.

Sad to see the Deck is all "spoiled" although it became lighter as the deck is a composite one. pics provided by www.boatmad.com / Graham Stevens ( thanx..to me and my powerboating countrymen they are priceless). http://media.boatmad.com/gallery/d/4...eal+_1990_.jpg http://media.boatmad.com/gallery/d/2073-2/Notareal.jpg http://media.boatmad.com/gallery/d/1...eal+_1990_.jpg http://media.boatmad.com/gallery/d/1...l+_1990_+2.jpg PS.. anyone looking for it´s original engines ? |
I'm about 2 months late on this, but man is that Conquest Jesse James a great looking boat! Shame there weren't more of them.
|
Thanks for the awesome reply MikeyFIN :D

You´re welcome, I was searching for that boat quite a while...almost tired to contact JP Mattila himself but didn´t know which castle he´s locked in currently...the federal or one of his own...

I'm three months late on this as well..Thanks for the compliment.... We actually built one other hull identical to the 35' Jesse James, for Stu Hayim. Stu insisted on different powerplants and setup and the performance, predictably, was nothing like the Lavin's experienced. When Mark was killed I was negotiating the sale of approximately 6 of that design with some people from Japan. As I have stated too often, I lost all interest in building boats after Mark's death and we completed only those boats that were under construction (Captain America and What-a-Package), and later accepted the project from Mark's father to build the big 4 engine superboat.
