Popeye's was Mercruiser Special before Copeland got it. Maxon also had a similar Aluminum Vee too. Totally Awesome was another but it was one of the glass boats.

George Morales' 46, Maggie's Mercruiser Special.

More wins, more press and more fame than all the others combined.

There was a glass 50' Cougar V that I could have bought for pennies here in Stuart, Florida about 5 years ago. The boat was white, red and blue, and setup for triples. It's name was . . . . (brain fart) something simple, aha! BOSS Racing Team. There was also a 38' and a 42' (maybe?) available. Could've had the 50' for $2500, just a bare hull, rotting away in a field for years.

The Boss boats were not real Cougars, they were copies and bad ones at that. Glass work was bad etc. They were built by A.J. Roberts at the old Cougar factory on 188th street. First 46 or 50 whatever they called it they put triple Volvo`s in or maybe was O.M.C. drives with small ford motors in her, real dog and last I saw many years ago, boat could be bought for $20,000, . Nothing bad about A.J. he is a good friend and was a great racer, just not a boat builder of the day. 7XCHAMP
