Dry Martini 35 Cig.

Years ago - a friend of mine - Mike Gillivan - who on his business card said: AFM (anything for money) - told me - that the Dry Martini had a huge hook in it - and they sanded it out - he told me then - that the people who bought it from Carlo Bonommi - should be careful - as the bottom near the transome is extremely thin - Just a word to the wise - I would not run it hard in the English Channel - have filmed there a few times- each time - big seas - The guy that bought it from Carlo Bonommi - was John Amato who passed away last year.

Those involved with sanding the bottom with Mike Gillivan might want to be more specific - its been years since he told me about it !

Mike Gillivan used to transport race boats - and was well known among his peers!

Now the go to guy is: Bobby Sheer - his equipment is First Class - he knows boats - and whoops - I forgot - he is a real nice guy !

Phil I guess by now you've seen the reports and some of the pics from the Cowes race - the 35' finished the race in what was at times a monster sea. To my knowledge with no problems whatsoever. The crew were a different story! They looked as though they'd been through a special boat squadron assault course that had been followed by a triathlon!! Mike's broken ribs were testament to that!

yes i think so not the same boat but the same make and model, i messaged 7xchamp about it to see if he knew anything else about it he thinks it was the spare boat tom gentry had. The story when we bought it was tom gentry had owned it and sold it to the guy we bought it from so i was trying to get more info on it.

I hear ya ! - I just repeated what I had heard from Mike Gillivan who trucked around those boats back in the day - He brought up my 36 Bertram Test boat from Miami - an aquaintance of mine - was going to buy the 35 Dry Martini - and he gave me that information.

I know this thread is old, but were there any more of these boats out there besides the ones listed in this thread? Maybe ones that don't have history or didn't get raced? Are there any for sale now?

15 yrs ago, there was a white with red and black striped cig empty raceboat on rt 1 in topsfield ma. It was on stands for yrs. I always wondered what happened to it. I looked at it ( as a dreamer) with my dad around the same time I looked at a burnt Banana that I think Biggus bought.
Anyway, that cig always made me dream. Anyone ever wind up with it here. I think it had long race hatches and the biggest fuel tnks I've ever seen in a speedboat. I guess it looked like Ajac hawk if I remember right. Every hole was empty.
