As interesting as ill-omened.
Was on board of this hull that during the Needles Trophy of the 1987 Pironi, Giroux and Guenard they found the death after a scary looping of the boat caused by the wrong affront of a wave of wake of an oil-tanker in the Channel.
Almost three months later the funereal boat was present to Key West drove by another Frenchman former F1 driver Jean Pierre Jarier to his first experience in a offshore competition.
If anyone is interested, The Pironi boat is now on display at the French museum (manoir de la automobile) in Loheac which is South of Rennes.

A short presentation- http://www.dailymotion.com/video/x6l...de-loheac_auto

Yes, they have quite a collection of group B rally cars from back in the day.
My jaw dropped when I saw that the roll cages were made out of aluminum!
They were left un-restored in the condition they were raced in. Oil dripping on the floor and everything. I like it

Found a few more pic's of this boat before she became Mr Zip.

I was blessed to be a part of this team with Steve Curtis, AJ Roberts in 1985 and was wondering if anyone knows the whereabouts of Theo (head mechanic)? I know it has been over 30 yrs. but, you never know. I would love to reconnect if Theo is still out there.
