Interesting weekend
Spent this past weekend at Daytona for the annual 24 hour race. Saw a lot of old friends and some of them had to do with boats.
David Donohue and I raced together in the old IMSA series back in the 80's. I told him about HORBA and he said he would be very interested in finding his dad's (Mark Donohue) old Cigarette boats.
Met with Leighton Reese who was another competitor of mine back in the 80's...he is co-driving with Jan Magnussen now and was telling me the budgets are 10X what they were back in the old days. His tire bill for the wekend was $50,000.
David Donohues car, #58 is the first photo, the second is Leighton and Jan and me and the last is an old GTP car, #57 that was sponsored by Apache Powerboats.

Looks great Charlie,
I worked on Leighton's crew for the 2006 24 hour effort.
There's not much left of the cars after that!
It was also great to see the vintage IMSA cars too.

Awww come on Charlie... The mighty Blue Thunder Marches aren't just "old GTP cars"!
