OK the last photo gave you away...the drives are off and that must mean you are in the midst of a total redo.....go for it...looks like you have an excelelnt candidate.

Looks Nice. Is it Kevlar or Glass. Alot of the ones with III's on them were Kevlar.

franksmarineserv 02-18-2008 07:04 PM

That looks like my old boat is it the old ptm express cigarette

glassdave 02-18-2008 07:27 PM

nice 'ol rig. I see the skegs have been cut. It's been said that is good for a few mph without any real handling issues as deep as they use to run them. Pretty cool boat bet it rides great in the ruff stuff.

38flatdeck 02-18-2008 07:48 PM

long story short,i sold my top gun and was going to take a break for a year or two,my friend told me he knows where thier is a old cigarette for sale ,but the color of it is yellow.Well i said ok ill take a look.He said the only problem is it has been in the garage for 15 yrs,ok lets look at ,i get to the garage the guy opens it ,i put on my poker face and said its ok lets talk .The rest is history. It took me hours to get it out of the garage 6 flat tires and 15 yrs of junk around it.

nocigarette 02-19-2008 07:03 AM

great find...

skegs were cut off from the factory, this flat deck rides better then my top gun did

butch ryan 02-20-2008 07:44 PM

I Had A 27 Flat Deck Mag With Trs Drives, I Cut The Skegs Off, Didn't Effect Handling At All And Gave A Mile Or Two

Looks like the big brother to my boat.

matador 02-21-2008 07:26 PM

very, very nice example of an old school "'Don A" top gun;with a little cabin update will look great. She might be a little heavy but on rough water she'll be lots of fun by far better than the new ones.In todays technology you can go with big blocks like 632s w/850hp naturaly aspirated and you'll be somebody to have a lot of respect.

Quiet Storm 02-21-2008 10:23 PM

Looks great, nice find.

thank you yours looks great i like the colors what size motors do you have in yours

US MUSL 02-23-2008 04:53 AM

Thank you for the compliment. The motor are 509s and I suspect about 550 hp each. 69 on GPS with 24 pitch Bravo Ones spinning 5100 RPM. It did 72 mph with 25 Hydromotive but was terrible getting on plane as was the mid range cruise. The Bravo prop put me at 51 mph at 3700 rpm. 90% of my cruising is at 3350 at 45 mph. Not bad for a 13,000 pound wave crusher. Not to mention suprisingly effiicient, about 1.3 mpg.
