OK . . . . what the heck is this?

Anybody know what these square aluminum tubes are? Its on a 35 Cig Flatdeck and they are mounted under the rear seat and stick through a hole in the bulkhead into the bilge. Pretty stout construction to. I'm sure its something simple but i cant figure it out

no, they are welded together. Stacked like in the pic and pretty heavy duty. The flange on the inside has a nice weld on it, it was specifically built for something. Atleast it sure looks like it.

Possibly a bracket for an easily removable rear seat or inflatable life raft (if a race boat). Are there scratches on the inside of the tubes from something sliding in or out?

I was kind of thinking along those same lines. Maybe some sort of holder for something. there is no markings around it of any kind.

maybe a bracket to add a tow pilon for water ski racing? Is it on both sides?
