Default Kaama swap

I have decided that Kaama's are driving me nuts. I will be selling them both and swaping to TRS drives. What would be a reasonable price for 1 complete with boot and one that was run dry of oil. I will sell with props. Is anyone interested before I go to E-BAY Call me at 727 364 8531 Don

I thought the kaama internals were over the counter gear parts readily available? Thought only the boots were an issue? You going to sell the twin disc trannies too?

Thumbs up

i would think that repairing the kaama would be easier than re rigging to convert over to trs. the kaamas were spanking the trs and # 3 back in the day. don give me a call Bruce 5197912790 before you give up.

It would definetly be easier to rebuild the Kaamas, although I had them for six years, and only changed a boot when I first bought them. If the boots ok, fix the drives. If you look very closely, you can see in the transom where the Trs drives were not mounted at the same height as the Kaama. I can't remember now, but I want to say they were mounted higher. You can tell by carefully examining the gel on the outside of the transom. You can see where Formula filled the original holes, and cut for the Kaama exhaust. Formula did an excellent job of filling these, and you really have to look closely. I can only assume, they came of the factory floor, with holes cut for Trs.

Default Real Kaama Formula

There is no fill in in the gelcoat. This hull was made with the holes for Kaamas. Formula said this is 1 of 7 boats made in 1985 with Kaamas. All the rest had other drives but no surface drives. I am not impressed with trying to repair these if it is such a hassel to get the boot. I will be selling the drives and twin disc's if anyone wants them call me at 727-364-8531 and we can discuss price for all of it with props.

I bet it's there. It's very hard to see, and you can't see it at all from the inside.

You don't know the meaning of hassel, until you start that swap. Nothing will fit.

I've got a friend with the same boat as you. 302 w/Kamma's

About 10 years ago he bought two complete Kamma drives to keep as spares. He's never needed them and is going through a divorce. He just might want to get rid of them at this point.
