Thumbs up Look what I found at Mom's house.

Mom is in the process of selling her house of almost 40 years (where I grew up). She's gotten a lot of stuff cleaned out, and was showing me the basement. I saw these 2 jackets hanging there. My dad was a cop in Point Pleasant Beach for a long time, and he often picked up a couple of extra bucks doing security for the raceboats. He always told me Rocky Aioki was a super nice guy. Guess he was nice enough to give dad a couple of jackets. I like the red one with the Bertram logo. Mom was gonna have a yard sale and mark them at $5. Needless to say, don't show up at mom's yard sale expecting to find these on the pile.

Can anyone with a touch more knowledge date these for me? I'm thinking between '76 and '80?

Enjoy....

Compliments for the recovery!
They are of the time of the Bertrams of Aoki.
I would exactly say 1978, but they could be also 1976 -77.

The red jacket is from 1978 and the yellow one is from 1979. There was also a black jacket sold to the general public. The "Benihana Bertram Racing" worn by the crew during the races were all the same color thread, where the jacket sold to the race fans, had "Bertram" in a contrasting color. Most of the race worn uniforms also had the red/orange/yellow stripes continue off the patch and down the front or back of the uniform although they race team occasionally would wear the promotional jackets and sometimes give them away at different local functions.

I have a yellow one I bought at the Benihana race in Point Plesant NJ. in 1978. I never wore it.
If anyone wants it let me know before I put it on E-Bay.
