Wow, such craftsmanship. I bet driving it wide open was a blast, I wonder if it was hot sitting in that driver’s seat with all that power/exhaust belching out in front of you.
124mph in 1932 is just awe inspiring, must have been something special seeing that back in the day.

I had the privilege of seeing this great piece of history a few years ago.
Those are the most beautiful engines I've ever seen.
Back in the day, the operators were known as Driver & Mechanic, instead of today's Driver & Throttleman. I was told the deck had quite a visible amount of flex when the boat was brought up to speed.
124mph...those guy's must have had balls the size of bowling balls!
