Bertram Model Resto Project
3 Attachment(s)
I purchased a model of my 38 Bertram on eBay. I was told it was one of two Needle Nose boats made in the late 70's. The thing as a little rougher than I thought it would be and I wanted it to look like my boat from years ago. I found a guy here in town than does some amazing work. Take a look at this guys attention to detail.

As to tell Natural Light, Preston Henn and Harrol Lanier in 1978 and Whittaker Moppie,Sammy James and Jack Stuteville in 1974 -75.
That the avatar instead is the 49er again of Henn in 1977 the former second Whittaker Moppie of James in 1976 and that it was in Kevlar and then it became the first Flap Jack that Quam it almost destroyed during the Benihana race in the 1978. Three different boat. Just to clarify.:ernaehrung004: Here more story and pics about them and other 38'. http://www.offshoreonly.com/forums/s...on+Henn&page=5 |

It was big sea's and deep vee's! The water was so clean and the weather was nice but after the rent from Bay Harbor on a condo for a week+ 1000 to have it pulled there and back+ Walstroms bill to travel lift it in and out($1780.00). I think I'm just going to stay on St. Clair next year. So if you ever make it down that way give me a ring. Joe |

topprop,I am agree with you(avatar included) and I had realized that you had chosen the 38' famous colors of James, certain best of the livery of the Natural Light that with that windscreen she had not aesthetically succeeded.
I congratulate me with you to have held in life a historical boat of the offshore, as I have done with all the others that have spent money to restore these glorious boats. Would want more a lot of people as you! Marco |

The plan was to make the model look like the race boat......The original plan was to make the big boat with the same type of exhaust. However finding someone to build the headers and pipes to port it out the sides was brain damage money. Hence the big boat has transom exhaust.
