P.S. I like the three man set-up but it sucks getting in and out of it. I'd like to make it insertable so you can have a walk through for the cabin while at the docks

I know what you mean about getting in and out with three man set up. I had three man bolster on 28ft cigarette. Felt confortable riding on rough water just little inconvenience to deal with if you want to get in the cabin in a hurry.
How long have you been putting this baby together ( if you don't mind asking). Hope to see it one day in person.

Jo ,,,leave the bolsters like they are.

Who needs a cabin in a boat like this ?!

Buy a cabin cruiser for a second boat . LOL:drink:

Cougarman, have you ever gotten to run your boat yet?

Did the old owner of your boat use all of the rigging in his 46' SKATER?

Ryan,

Is there anybody in the boating world that you do NOT know? :drink: My understanding is the gentleman in question had the boat surveyed in full running condition.
Then sold the hard ware, then donated the hull with the surveyed figures............

Then built the Skater,...............he's not the only one guess that's why it's harder to donate hulls these days.

Anyways to answer your first question NO, hoping this comming summer in 09 will be the first.

I had sort of a scanning frenzy last night. Dug out my old Cougar brochures and did all the v hulls as well as some cats.

Can be seen here.

I Know of at least 2... Errol Lanier Had one with an arneson drive, and the kid that bought Nigel Hooks 26 Scarab (cant think of his name) Had one with an arneson then changed to a Bravo.

That is Errol's boat that he still has. The one in California was cut open into a pleasure boat by Archer marine.

I know of a 46 Cougar V that was run as "POPEYES" by Al Copeland back in the day. It is in Ft. Myers , Florida, rigged with triple Keith Sikert, PSI blown big blocks, #3 drives, and will probably go for the right offer. Its an aluminum boat, on the trailer, in very good condition when I saw it . If anyone is interested in a real piece of Offshore Racing history, contact me at [email protected]
